European Farm Animal Diversity Campus
The objective of the Intensive Programme is to provide complex view on Farm Animal genetic diversity in European context. Beside basic information about priorities, forms and methods of conservation, agro biological importance of animal diversity and sustainable use of animal genetic resources for safe food production will be presented.
Objectives:
- Maintenance of Biodiversity and Management of Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR),
- Monitoring of Diversity on European and National level,
- Population Genetic Analysis for Evaluation of Diversity,
- Molecular Genetic Analysis for Evaluation of Diversity and use of Genomics
- Sustainable Strategies for AnGR.
Mutual exchange of knowledge in such a significant issue will contribute to the transfer of excellent knowledge to the students. The intensive program will help to all partners to prepare teaching materials for further study in educational process and will contribute to educate new course in English language. Main target groups of Erasmus intensive program are students studying at the agricultural and veterinary master university studying programs and their lectures. Indirect target groups are managers of farms, entrepreneurs doing business in rural areas and general public. After completion of intensive program students should receive theoretical background in area of farm animal diversity and practical skills in evaluation and monitoring of state of diversity. From farm trip, ideas on how to manage animal genetic resources under farm conditions either under intensive or extensive conditions as examples have to serve. Expected learning outputs are publishing of study materials in English language for lectures and practicals in innovative form of education utilizing information technology as Moodle for elaboration of materials, sharing of knowledge among lecturers and students. Established project web site will serve as main communication and dissemination resource, poster even papers in newspapers and professional journals are expected. After fulfilling of all requirements of intensive program participants will receive certificates, ECTS credits and Transcript of Records.
